PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Syracuse University’s iSchool, CCENT (Center for Convergence and Emerging Network Technologies) research division has recommended launching a project to setup a laboratory and formulate a training course for students interested in learning networking skills (CCNA). Professor Dave Molta Project Visionary, has requested the project team to plan and setup up a network laboratory with the equipment available in the research center. The team is also responsible for creating a simple yet thorough training scheme for the students covering the basic to intermediate levels of networking. Finally the team is in charge of planning advertisement strategies for the HomeNet project.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The mission of project team is to provide efficient and high quality service to the students enrolling for the project. The project manager is responsible for the planning and construction of the laboratory with assistance of the team member assigned for the project. Equipment for the laboratory is already available in the research center, and options for upgrade must be kept in mind in the planning process. The syllabus and training scheme should be formulated and the project visionary, Professor Dave Molta must be consulted prior to finalization. The project involves obtaining the materials and planning the class schedule including time for lab modules and exercises. The team is also responsible for planning of advertisement strategies.

CCENT Project team has identified the various objectives required for the completion of the project as follows:

  • Development of syllabus and schedule.
  • Development of training materials.
  • Developing advertisement strategies.
